80 Adult Social Care Service Users Participate in Priority Setting for the Coming Year

July 1, 2013

The first Adult Social Care City Summit was held on Tuesday 11 June 2013 at Hove Town Hall where residents had their say on the future of care.

More than 80 people, including current service users, carers and future service users talked to us about their experiences with adult social care services at the City Summit. We met some wonderful people there and from their discussions 12 hot topics emerged for further consideration over the year.

Marnie Naylor Performance & Development Officer BHCC said ‘Brighton & Hove Adult Social Care first City Summit event “have your say” was a big success contributed by the excellent support from our M.C host Jessie, who came highly recommended to us by Oxford County Council “Hear say” event organisers. Jessie explained and supported the process to take our City Summit forward, from start to finish. On the day her cool and fun style was pitched perfectly, and everyone was able to contribute at a steady pace.’ What next? We have a great deal of information to take forward from the event (12 key themes), which will be put into a report and a project plan for teams to work through. The findings and outcomes will feed into next years Local Account.

More information on the event can be found at the Brighton and Hove City Council website.
